Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These terms and conditions apply to the supply of goods and services by Student Mattress to business customers including universities, accommodation providers and housing operators (“you”, “your”). By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

1. About our website

The content of studentmattress.co.uk is provided for general information. Product specifications, images and descriptions are indicative and may be updated from time to time. Nothing on the website constitutes a binding offer; all orders are subject to confirmation by us.

2. Quotes and orders

  • Quotes are prepared based on the information you provide (including mattress model, quantity and delivery requirements) and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  • An order becomes binding when we confirm it in writing (including by email).
  • Prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT is charged at the applicable rate.

3. Payment

Payment terms are agreed per order and set out on our quote or invoice. We reserve the right to require payment or deposit before manufacture or delivery. Late payments may incur interest and costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

4. Manufacture and product specifications

  • Our mattresses are manufactured in the UK to contract-grade specifications and comply with applicable fire-safety standards for contract use, including BS 7177 as stated per product.
  • Minor variations in materials, finish or dimensions that do not materially affect performance may occur between batches.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure the specification ordered is suitable for your intended use and environment; we are happy to advise.

5. Delivery

  • Delivery dates are agreed at order and we will use all reasonable efforts to meet them. Agreed delivery windows around student changeover periods are prioritised.
  • You must ensure reasonable access to the delivery site and that someone is available to accept the delivery.
  • Where old mattress removal is included in your order, the quantity and collection arrangements will be confirmed in writing. Removed mattresses are disposed of responsibly.
  • Delivery timescales may be affected by events outside our reasonable control (see section 9).

6. Risk and title

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Title (ownership) passes when we have received payment in full for the goods.

7. Inspection, shortages and damage

Please inspect goods on delivery. Any shortages or visible damage must be reported to us within 5 working days of delivery. We will repair, replace or credit goods that are confirmed to be damaged in transit or not in accordance with the order.

8. Warranty and returns

  • Our mattresses are warranted against manufacturing defects for the period stated on your order confirmation. The warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, misuse, staining or damage caused after delivery.
  • As our goods are manufactured to order for business customers, orders cannot be cancelled or returned once manufacture has begun, except as set out in these terms or agreed in writing.

9. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including (without limitation) supplier or transport failures, industrial action, extreme weather, or governmental restrictions. We will notify you and take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of any such event.

10. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
  • Subject to that, our total liability arising under or in connection with an order is limited to the price paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit or loss of business.

11. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, branding and product names — belongs to us or our licensors and may not be reproduced without permission.

12. Privacy

We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. General

  • These terms, together with our order confirmation, form the entire agreement between us in relation to an order.
  • If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
